Our mission is to reduce food loss and maximize the value of every harvest by enabling better quality decisions throughout the fresh produce supply chain.
We’re an ambitious Belgian technology company transforming how fruit quality is managed across the fresh produce supply chain. By combining artificial intelligence, data and purpose-built hardware, we help growers, storage operators, packhouses and distributors make better decisions — from harvest and storage through sorting and commercialisation.
Following our recent growth and international expansion, we are looking to strengthen our Board of Directors with an independent board member who brings strong commercial expertise, in-depth knowledge of the fresh produce industry and experience in scaling an international business.
The opportunity
As an independent board member, you will provide objective oversight, strategic guidance and constructive challenge to Optiflux’s management team and fellow directors. You will help sharpen our commercial strategy, accelerate international growth and support the company as it develops into a leading international quality-management platform for fresh produce.
Your contribution
A strategic and independent voice at the board table
- Advise on Optiflux’s commercial and go-to-market strategy.
- Guide the management on international expansion and market prioritisation.
- Contribute relevant industry insights, relationships and market intelligence.
- Challenge and support management on strategic decisions and execution.
- Help translate Optiflux’s technology and product capabilities into scalable customer value.
- Monitor the company’s performance, risks and long-term value creation.
- Act independently and in the best interests of the company and all its stakeholders.
The profile we are looking for
Our priority is a senior profile with:
- A strong commercial track record and network in the fresh fruit and vegetable sector.
- In-depth knowledge of the fresh fruit and vegetable industry.
- Experience in scaling a company, business unit or commercial organisation internationally.
- Feeling with high-tech entrepreneurship.
- A strategic mindset combined with a pragmatic and entrepreneurial approach.
- The ability to act as a constructive, independent sparring partner for the CEO and the management team.
- Sound judgement, integrity and a clear understanding of board-level responsibilities.
- Fluency in English and the ability to operate effectively in an international environment.
- Willingness and ability to join board meetings physically, at least 1–2 times a year.
- Experience with fundraising and/or VC-backed scale-ups is a plus.
- Previous experience as a director, CEO, senior commercial executive or international business leader is preferred.
- Prior board experience is valuable but not essential if the candidate brings the required seniority, independence and strategic perspective.
Additional expertise
Experience in one or more of these areas would be a strong advantage:
- Post-harvest: Fresh produce logistics and post-harvest supply chains.
- Commercial: Food retail, trading, import/export or packing operations.
- Finance: Corporate finance, fundraising, financial management or M&A.
- Technology: AI, data platforms, hardware-enabled solutions, automation or sorting.
